Excellent. A real easy to watch film enjoyed by all at our venue. The diction was good too, so no problems hearing what was said.

The description did not do it justice! I was not overly keen but in the event it was a great success with a great combination of humour and pathos that kept our audience totally involved right the way through. Great acting by Streep and Grant, but for me equally as key was the pianist - fabulous expressions and very talkative eyes!

Meryl Streep plays Florence sympathetically and in the most wonderful gowns, Hugh Grant's role was made for him but he played it for all he was worth and Simon Helberg was a delight. Poignant with some moments of laugh aloud humour and also great sadness and pathos.

Our audience enjoyed this film very much. It had some great laughs as well as its sad moments. We would recommend its showing.

One of those extraordinary films that have you laughing and then seconds later weeping, and feeling guilty for having laughed. Remarkable performances by Streep and Grant. There was spontaneous applause at the end.

Very funny

Funny film but quite poignant too

Much better received than I thought and long applause at the end. I think the pianist stole the show and people were ready to laugh at some of his antics. Some 'first timers' who were impressed with the screen and the hall. Also we raised £250 for Macmillan Nurses! Sold out of cake before the film started.

Very funny - and fantastic off key singing from Florence!

Brilliant. The audience loved it. Lots of laughter.

FFJ lived up to its publicity. A romantic comedy born from a true story of a love of music and the love of an individual. The comic timing in the early part of the film is superb as is the poignancy of the second half of the film - but one would expect it from Ms Streep. Would recommend for any audience.
