Slow but enjoyable

The film attracted a good size audience. It was very moving and true to the book as the screen play was written by the author. Although it was mostly serious, with some extremely sad moments, there was an uplifting message and resolution at the end of Harold's journey. This was appreciated by the audience as well as the brilliant acting by the leading characters.

Most people enjoyed the film but said they were affected by the flashbacks identifying the underlying relationship issues underpinning the plot.

A little slow to begin with but, in the end, very good. Jim Broadbent and Penelope Wilton both outstanding at expressing emotions. A film about guilt and grief.
