Belfast (12)

Director Kenneth Branagh. Drama

BELFAST is a movie straight from Branagh's own experience. A nine-year-old boy must chart a path towards adulthood through a world that has suddenly turned upside down. His stable and loving community and everything he thought he understood about life is changed forever but joy, laughter, music and the formative magic of the movies remain.

Starring Jude Hill, Lewis McAskie, Caitríona Balfe, Jamie Dornan, Judi Dench and Ciarán Hinds

Flicks Advisor (comments from our film promoters)

Well acted film with a very poignant story for Belfast in the 1960's. It was popular with our audience

Powerful film of a family caught up in the middle of a conflict.

Some thought it lacked a story but the filming and acting were brilliant. Some of the dialect was difficult to understand but the story was straightforward and well told.
