Some thought it lacked a story but the filming and acting were brilliant. Some of the dialect was difficult to understand but the story was straightforward and well told.

A popular choice that went down really well with the audience. There were lots of positive comments about the film - how realistically it portrayed the troubles, the great soundtrack, the poignancy, great acting and how the serious side of the film was balanced by the humour.

Enjoyed by our audience, a fair dose of humour throughout but equally poignant as we all remember the troubles. Very broad accents but we had the subtitles on. The young star of the film, Jude Hill, was absolutely delightful.

Powerful film. And we loved the Van Morrison sound track

Excellent performance by the young lead role but difficult to follow the strong Belfast accents at times.

The film was enjoyed for the standard of acting, but the broad Irish accents was sometimes difficult to follow.

Brilliantly produced film - a true reflection of the troubled times in Northern Ireland. But brilliant humour "you only have 24 hours to live. I have been trying to tell you since yesterday" There were many tears and and much laughter.

Excellent, well told story, very strong

Excellent and highly enjoyable. Outstanding performances by the young lead as Buddy and by Judi Dench and Ciaran Hinds as the grandparents. One lady (Irish Catholic) had left Belfast in 1971 (so around the time the film was set) and was moved to tears. Requests at interval for subtitles so we put these on for the 2nd half.

A sensitive portrayal of a difficult period in Ulster's history, highlighting the inter-faith strains of the time. A good film, but painful to watch !

A nice period piece from a very troubled time and how the catholic and protestant families from a typical Belfast street dealt with the changes forced on them by political factions of the time, the main viewpoint being from Kenneth Branagh as a Child.

I was away but feed back has been good, enjoyed by all.

Fabulous film. Great acting. Everyone loved it.

Very interesting and probably realistic look at life during the Troubles. Perhaps a bit soft, as no deaths or serious injuries to residents were shown, but the trauma people had to live with was pretty evident in places.

Fabulous film, some people struggled to understand the accents but in general everyone enjoyed the film.
