good film based on a true story with lots of dimensions - good choice for our Flicks audience.

I was unable to attend this film but the feedback from colleagues is that it was enjoyed by the audience. We run a cork voting scheme as the audience leave, allowing them to rate the film excellent, good, average or poor. This film rated 31 excellent, the rest good. The only slightly negative comment made by committee members was that the film was very long at 2 hours, we have an interval to increase proffit from refreshment sales, and so appreciate shorter films.

First half a bit slow but picked up in the second half and had a good ending. Not as good as the original.

The audience really loved the film. It captured beautifully the 'backroom' atmosphere of wartime intelligence work. There was the right amount of understatement in the depiction of the characters to make it realistically 'British' and accurate to the times. As aways Colin Firth very watchable, ably supported by Matthew Macfadyen and Kelly Macdonald. Greeted by applause from audience!
