The wartime atmosphere was created with minimum effort. A good story told with some well-played cameo roles; humour, comedy, sadness, drama, romance; much enjoyed by all.

Really enjoyable film, better than expected. Good mix of comedy balanced against the more serious backdrop of the war. Didn’t expect the twist towards the end. Bill Nighy was superb. Definitely recommend.

On the whole well received but just one or two unhappy with the death. The 'new' people seemed to want to stay and chat but we have to straighten the hall, stack chairs etc, so they joined in.
