Charlie Bicknell
Dearly Beloved

She used to be drop dead gorgeous, now she’s dropped dead. Lamenting her untimely demise, Louise Innes, in the words of Billy Eilish, mourns the passing of Charlie Bicknell her cabaret partner and rival. Reverend JB eulogises in the words of Shakespeare’s The Seven Ages of Man. Thus follows a journey through life in the words of Tim Minchin, Mozart, Frishberg and Coldplay among others, celebrating, mocking and at times revelling in the brevity of it all. Unusual as usual and defiantly different, funerals will never seem the same. ‘Cabaret with Claws’ The Observer

Good Habits

Singer-cellist Bonnie and Shrewsbury-born accordionist Pete were on their debut International tour in New Zealand with their van “Brian” when the pandemic hit. Happily stranded, they committed to the nomadic ‘Life of Brian’, performing inside the Kiwi bubble for 2 years before it burst and they returned home. The pair mix vivid storytelling with eclectic sounds, drawing on their diverse musical tastes and weaving them into an action-packed narrative of folky goodness. Once reviewed as "a duo with the sound of a 5 piece", they indulge in their multitasking ability to create a sound far larger and more diverse than you might expect.

Hotbuckle Productions
Sense and Sensibility

Sense and Sensibility by Jane Austen was published anonymously in three volumes in 1811. The satirical, comic story offers a vivid depiction of 19th-century middle-class life as it follows the romantic relationships of Elinor and Marianne Dashwood, personifications of good sense (common sense) and sensibility (emotionality), respectively. They become destitute upon the death of their father, who leaves his home, Norland Park, to their half brother, John. With live music, multiple characterisation, humour and inventiveness, yet another English classic novel is brought wonderfully to life—Hotbuckle style!

Holmes and Watson: The Farewell Tour by Stuart Fortey

It's an affair upon whose outcome the security of Europe once hung by a thread and was shrouded in secrecy until now. The case has finally been approved by the government for public disclosure. It is understood that Mr Holmes has been entrusted by Her Majesty with the conveyance to the Tower of London of the fabled Satsuma Stone, stolen from the crown of William of Orange in the 17th century, and recently discovered in Europe. One can only be thankful that Professor James Moriarty, the Napoleon of crime, fell to his death at the Reichenbach Falls. Or is he alive, planning another deadly strike as he lurks, unseen, in the wings...? “totally and delightfully, utterly bonkers...so funny it should come with a Government health warning.” Northern Echo Written by Stuart Fortey and directed by David Robertson
