A fast-living, cynical London music executive heads to a remote Cornish village on a stag weekend where he’s pranked by his boss into trying to sign a group of shanty singing fishermen. He becomes the ultimate ‘fish out of water’ as he struggles to gain the respect or enthusiasm of the unlikely boy band and their families who value friendship and community over fame and fortune. As he’s drawn deeper into the traditional way of life he’s forced to re-evaluate his own integrity and ultimately question what success really means.

Great feel good film

An easy to watch film enjoyed by all ages in our audience

Easygoing, likeable British comedy with lovely music and perfect for and very popular with our audience, especially as we had the local Ukulele group playing songs from the film in the interval. At the end of the film everyone sang along with the credits! A great atmosphere all round.

Cheerful tale of a group of sea-shanty singing Cornish fisherman being discovered by a London based record producer and the culture clash that ensued. Our audience left with a collective smile on its face. Job done.

The film went down really well, with catchy music, plenty of humour and a touch of romance and poignancy too. It got lots of laughs and there was a great atmosphere as everyone was clearly enjoying themselves. A spontaneous round of applause when the film ended an another after the credits.
